home info The Manukau Youth Orchestra has about twenty five members ranging mainly from 10 to 18 years in age. In board terms the skill level of players range from grade 5 to grade 8. The orchestra rehearses on Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm at Kedgley Intermediate School, Papatoetoe. It performs two major concerts each year of original orchestral works. The majority of repetoire comes from the 18th century and early 19th century and includes works by Bach, Handel, Mozart and Beethoven. How to Join - Currently positions are available in strings and woodwind. Keen string players of a good grade 4 standard that are considered. The minimum standard for woodwind players is grade 7.
