Manukau Youth Orchestra Elementary Violin Technique

The initial concept through to the images presented here are the result of hundreds of hours of research and development over nine months by Joseph Allan.

Images where shot in a single two hour photo session with photography by Jason Dorday who also arranged the use of a studio free of charge. Alisha Hunt assisted at the session with her knowledge on violin technique and also kindly appears in a number of the images here. A special thanks to Nicola Green for her participation in many discussions about the project.

The entire section on the bow hold was re-shot by Joseph Allan on 26 February 2003 at the registered office of the society. The redesign was done in response to correspondence from Andrew Gibson of www.theviolintutor.com after he saw the images on the internet. The new section is the work of Joseph Allan and Nicola Green.
